Skagit Valley College's head men's soccer coach resigns, search for new coach launches

(Mount Vernon, Wash.) ––   Skagit Valley College's head men's soccer coach Jordan Carver has recently resigned after a brief but successful stint at SVC. The search for a new head coach is underway.

"We want to thank Jordan for his commitment to Skagit Valley College and to the young men that he mentored this year," said Mitch Freeman, Director of Athletics. "In just one year, Jordan brought a competitive spirit back to SVC men's soccer, and we are excited for the future of this program."

Carver and his family are relocating to California. He has diligently worked to restart SVC's men's soccer program since his hiring in June 2021. The program has been one of the most prominent in the Northwest Athletics Conference (NWAC) history. Carver was also named the North Division Coach of the Year in 2021.

After a one-year hiatus, Carver led the Cardinals to five wins, and the team narrowly missed an opportunity to make the NWAC Championships. Carver also recruited a robust roster, including nine international student-athletes from France, Germany, and Japan. This year's team also included three North Division All-Stars: Aurelien Habasquez, Manuel Segura, and Tobie Smith.

"We're looking for a head coach who will be committed to developing well-rounded student-athletes and a team that competes for top NWAC honors," Freeman said.
