Skagit Valley College Baseball 2025: Cardinals Eye Postseason Berth Under Coach Grady Tweit
As the 2025 NWAC baseball regular season enters its final week, Head Coach Grady Tweit and the Skagit Valley College Cardinals are pushing to secure their third consecutive top-four finish and a return trip to the NWAC Baseball Championships. Since taking the helm in 2022, Coach Tweit has led a resurgence of Cardinals Baseball—one grounded in grit, player development, and playoff ambition.
This season's team, anchored by 10 sophomores, has tallied 19 wins and currently sits in 4th place heading into their final league series. Despite being a young group, the Cardinals have gained valuable experience throughout the season and shown the resilience needed to compete down the stretch.
Team Stats Through 40 Games
Head Coach Grady Tweit praised the effort and growth of his team:
"Cardinals Baseball is in the middle of the grind. This young team is learning valuable experience that only the collegiate game can offer. The guys have done a great job putting themselves into the playoff hunt. The stretch run is going to be a lot of fun," said Tweit. "See you at the yard… Go Cardinals!"
The Cardinals close out the regular season with a pivotal four-game series against Bellevue College. They'll travel to Bellevue on Saturday, May 10th for games at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, then return home for Sophomore Day on Sunday, May 11th, with another doubleheader at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM at Dream Field.
