SVC Golf Positioned for Postseason Success

SVC Men's & Women's Golf Programs Shine in Strong 2025-2026 Season

Skagit Valley College men's and women's golf programs are putting together an impressive season under the leadership of Head Coaches Daniel Graber (men's) and Kalan Smith (women's). Both teams have seen success at the individual and team levels, with the men finishing in 2ndย place in the NWAC league standings and the women finishing in 3rdย place. Both teams have qualified for the NWAC Golf Championships at Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima, WA on May 17thย and 18th.ย 
The Cardinals have delivered standout performances throughout the year. On the women's side, Malia Schroder captured the individual title at the South Western Oregon CC League Match, shooting a school record low with rounds of 73-77 at Bandon Crossing Golf Course in Bandon, OR. This led the women's team to a tournament championship and NWAC Athlete of the Week for Malia. A runner-up finish for the women's team at theย Olympic College League Match locked the team into the NWAC Golf Championships.ย 

The men's team has also had a strong showing, earning team titles at the South Puget Sound CC League Match this spring and the Blue Mountain Invite in the fall. Individually, Logan Medcalf has had a remarkable season, claiming tournament victories at the Blue Mountain Invite, South Puget Sound Invite (twice), and the Olympic College Invite. Another highlight came during the fall season when Mason Acker recorded a hole-in-one at Wildhorse Golf Course during the Blue Mountain Invite. The men also finished with in second place at the Olympic College League Match, hosted at Gold Mountain Golf Course to secure the team into the NWAC Golf Championships.ย 

Looking ahead, SVC Golf will host theย Skagit Golf Invitationalย on May 3โ€“4 at Avalon Golf Links in Burlington. The Cardinals invite all students, staff, faculty, and community members to come out and enjoy collegiate golf in action. On Monday, May 4, sandwiches will be available for fans from 12:00 PMโ€“3:00 PM (or while supplies last).
