One player from SVC has been selected in the MLB Draft after his time at SVC as well. Kade Mechals played for SVC in 2018 before moving on to GCU. After a successful stint at GCU, Mechals was selected in the 4th round of the 2020 MLB Draft, the highest draft pick to come out of SVC.

“I have always had a special connection with Skagit Valley College and this area in general. This is my home and a place where I am proud to be. My goal is to one day leave the Skagit Valley College baseball program better than I found it, with the goal of taking this program to places that is has not yet seen. I wouldn’t be here without the unwavering support of my family and I am grateful for the opportunity to lead Skagit baseball.”
