As the 2024-2025 season begins, Skagit Valley College celebrates a remarkable milestone for Coach Deb Castle, who is entering her 30th year as a part of the Cardinals' Women's Basketball program. Over her tenure, Castle has served as both an assistant and head coach, leaving an indelible mark on the team and its legacy.
This season, the Cardinals will feature a blend of experienced and new talent, returning six sophomores while welcoming seven freshmen to the roster. Together, they are poised for an exciting season of growth and competition. "This season's outlook is very positive. "Our Freshman class is probably the most talented group we have had commit to us in the six years I have been head coach. The team kicks off their campaign on November 19th with non-conference games leading up to their annual Holiday Tournament, scheduled for January 2-4. The Cardinals will then turn their focus to NWAC North Region play, opening the conference schedule at home against Shoreline Community College on Wednesday, January 8th.
With a seasoned leader at the helm and a balanced squad, the Cardinals are ready to embrace the challenges of the season and aim for continued success in the NWAC. Fans can look forward to an exciting year of women's basketball at Skagit Valley College.
