Richard Henderson invested an immeasurable amount of time and energy into rebuilding a Skagit Valley College Men's Soccer program that had experienced significant transition, going through two head coaches in just three years. During his tenure, he restored pride, stability, and competitive excellence to one of the most storied programs in the NWAC, a program with 12 conference championships in its history.
In just four seasons, Coach Henderson assembled a roster featuring a dynamic blend of international standouts, local talent, and top players from across the state. His leadership brought the Cardinals back to prominence, securing back-to-back postseason appearances and advancing to the NWAC Championships in consecutive years.
This past season, Henderson guided the Cardinals to their most wins since 2014, finishing third in the NWAC North Division, earning a #10 national ranking from United Soccer Coaches, and posting an impressive 9-4-2 overall record.
Skagit Valley College extends its deepest gratitude to Coach Henderson for an exceptional four years of commitment, culture-building, and competitive success. His impact on Cardinal Men's Soccer will be felt for years to come.
