Coach Carl Howell begins his 6th season at the helm of Skagit Valley College's men's basketball program and his 32th season overall as a collegiate coach. The Cardinals are coming off a historic 2023-24 season, achieving 26 wins and advancing to the Final Four of the NWAC Championship Basketball Tournament.
This season, the Cardinals return five key players from last year's squad and welcome nine new freshmen and transfers, bringing fresh talent and energy to the 2024-25 roster." The team is off to a strong start, currently holding a 3-0 record, and faces a challenging non-conference schedule ahead. Highlights include two home tournaments: the 50th Anniversary of the SVC Turkey Tournament and the NWAC Crossover Tournament.

The Cardinals will begin NWAC North Region play on Wednesday, January 8th, with a home game against Shoreline Community College. The team is ready to build on last season's success and compete at the highest level throughout the year.
